The Riverside County Sheriff's Department responded to a steady volume of calls across Palm Desert for the week of Feb. 12-18, with deputies handling a mix of warrant arrests, theft reports, DUI investigations, and other incidents across the city.

Warrant arrests

Deputies made multiple warrant arrests during the week, stopping individuals on foot and during traffic stops across multiple parts of the city.

  • A 35-year-old male from Indio was contacted during a pedestrian check at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 on Feb. 12 and found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and booked at the county jail in Indio.

  • A 34-year-old male from Cathedral City was contacted at a business in the 40000 block of Washington Street on Feb. 13 during a disturbance call and found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • A 29-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted during a traffic stop at California Drive and Warner Trail on Feb. 13 and found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • A 40-year-old male from Desert Hot Springs was contacted during a traffic stop at Portola Avenue and Frank Sinatra Drive on Feb. 16 and found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • A 45-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted during a pedestrian check at Town Center Way and Hahn Road on Feb. 18 and found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

Retail thefts

Deputies responded to multiple theft calls during the week, with activity concentrated along the Highway 111 and Monterey Avenue corridors. Several theft arrests also involved narcotics or weapons.

  • On Feb. 12, a 44-year-old male from Indio was contacted at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 and found to be in possession of stolen merchandise. He was arrested and booked in Indio.   • On Feb. 12, a 26-year-old male from Coachella was contacted at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 after a theft call and found with stolen merchandise and narcotics. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 13, a 30-year-old male from Indio was contacted at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 after a theft call and found with stolen merchandise and narcotics. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 13, a 57-year-old female and a 67-year-old female, both from Palm Desert, were contacted at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 after a theft call and found with stolen merchandise and narcotics. Both were arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 16, a 39-year-old male from Yucca Valley was contacted at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 after a theft call and found with stolen merchandise and narcotics. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 16, a 42-year-old male from Rancho Mirage was contacted at a business in the 34000 block of Monterey Avenue after a theft call and found with stolen merchandise and an illegal weapon. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 16, a 42-year-old female from San Bernardino was contacted at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 after a theft call and found with stolen merchandise and narcotics. She was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 17, a 28-year-old male from Indio was contacted at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 after a theft call and found with stolen merchandise and narcotics. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

DUI arrests

One DUI arrest was recorded during the week, stemming from a traffic collision.

  • On Feb. 12, a 66-year-old male from Palm Springs was contacted at Portola Avenue and Hovley Lane West following a traffic collision and found to display a heightened level of intoxication. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

Stolen vehicle recoveries

Narcotics arrests

  • On Feb. 12, a 33-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted during a traffic stop at Deep Canyon Drive and Via Palmira and found with narcotics and multiple illegal weapons. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 14, a 46-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted during a pedestrian check at Michigan Drive and Avenue of the States and found with an illegal weapon and narcotics. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 14, a 54-year-old female from Palm Desert was contacted during a pedestrian check at Alessandro Drive and Monterey Avenue, found with narcotics, and determined to be on county probation. She was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 15, a 60-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted during a pedestrian check at Highway 111 and Las Palmas Avenue and found with narcotics. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 16, a 69-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted at Monterey Avenue and Market Place during a disturbance, found with narcotics, and determined to be on county probation. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 17, a 47-year-old male was contacted during a pedestrian check at Washington Street and Hovley Lane, found with narcotics, and determined to be on parole. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 17, a 35-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted during a traffic stop at Fred Waring Drive and Phyllis Jackson Lane and found with narcotics. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 17, a 49-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted at Washington Street and Hovley Lane East during a disturbance and displayed objective symptoms of drug intoxication. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 18, a 35-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted during a bicycle stop at Country Club Drive and Harris Lane and found with narcotics. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 18, a 48-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted during a vehicle stop at Washington Street and 42nd Avenue and found with narcotics. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 12, a 41-year-old male from Palm Desert was arrested in connection with a vandalism at a residence in the 72000 block of Eagle Road. He was later located at Highway 111 and Portola Avenue and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 12, a 64-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted at Town Center Way and Hahn Road during a disturbance and found to display a heightened level of intoxication. He was arrested and booked in Indio on a public intoxication charge.

  • On Feb. 13, a 34-year-old male from Palm Desert was contacted at a business in the 74000 block of Highway 111 during a domestic disturbance and found with an illegal weapon. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 14, a 25-year-old male from Thousand Palms was contacted at Eisenhower Medical Center following a battery that occurred at an unknown Palm Desert location. Deputies determined he had instigated a physical altercation with his spouse. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 16, a 44-year-old male from Fullerton was contacted at a business in the 34000 block of Monterey Avenue during a suspicious person call and found to display a heightened level of intoxication. He was arrested and booked on a public intoxication charge.

  • On Feb. 17, a 26-year-old male from Indio was contacted at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 following a vandalism and identified as the suspect. An inquiry showed he was on county probation. He was arrested and booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 18, a 67-year-old female from Palm Desert was contacted at a residence in the 77000 block of Country Club Drive, where she had previously been evicted, and arrested on a trespassing charge. She was booked in Indio.

  • On Feb. 18, a 22-year-old female from Palm Desert was contacted at a business in the 42000 block of Washington Street following a domestic disturbance and determined to have instigated a physical altercation with her significant other. She was arrested and booked in Indio.
