Warrant arrests

Deputies made seven warrant arrests across Palm Desert during the week, stopping individuals on foot, by bicycle, and during traffic and pedestrian checks at several locations throughout the city.

  • A 35-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested on a warrant during a pedestrian check at Washington Street and Harris Lane on March 5.

  • A 51-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested on a warrant during a pedestrian check near Desert Crossings and Highway 111 on March 6.

  • A 34-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested on a warrant during a bicycle stop at Monterey Avenue and Park View Drive on March 8.

  • A 38-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested on a warrant after deputies responded to a suspicious person call at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 on March 10.

  • A 53-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested on an active warrant during a pedestrian check near San Pablo Avenue and Royal Palm Drive on March 11.

  • A 29-year-old Moreno Valley man was arrested on an active warrant during a pedestrian check near Desert Crossing and Highway 111 on March 11.

  • A 53-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested on an active warrant during a pedestrian check near Highway 111 and Plaza Way on March 11.

Retail thefts

Deputies responded to multiple theft calls at businesses along Highway 111 and Monterey Avenue, recovering stolen merchandise in each case.

  • A 53-year-old Cathedral City woman was arrested after deputies found stolen merchandise on her at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 on March 7.

  • A 37-year-old La Quinta man was arrested after deputies found stolen merchandise and narcotics on him at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 on March 7.

  • A 67-year-old Cabazon woman was arrested after deputies found stolen merchandise on her at a business in the 34000 block of Monterey Avenue on March 7.

  • A 54-year-old Thousand Palms man was arrested after deputies found stolen merchandise on him at a business in the 34000 block of Monterey Avenue on March 8.

  • A 27-year-old Cathedral City man was arrested after deputies found stolen merchandise on him at a business in the 72000 block of Highway 111 on March 9.

  • A 66-year-old La Quinta man was arrested on March 11 after deputies found him intoxicated and in possession of stolen merchandise at a business in the 44000 block of Town Center Way. (See also: Public Intoxication, below.)

DUI arrests

Deputies made two DUI arrests during the week, both involving traffic stops or collisions.

  • A 46-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a traffic stop at Fred Waring Drive and San Anselmo Avenue on March 7.

  • A 59-year-old Washington man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after deputies were dispatched to a traffic collision near Fred Waring Drive and Painters Path on March 11.

Stolen vehicle recoveries

Deputies located one stolen vehicle during the week.

  • A 36-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested after deputies located a stolen vehicle he was driving near the intersection of Strawflower Circle and Amaryllis Way on March 9.

Narcotics arrests

Deputies made several narcotics-related arrests throughout the week, including two cases involving both drugs and outstanding warrants, and one arrest involving suspected narcotics sales.

  • A 32-year-old Desert Hot Springs man was arrested on narcotics and warrant charges after a pedestrian check at Country Club Drive and Harris Lane on March 5.

  • A 46-year-old Bermuda Dunes man was arrested on suspicion of narcotics sales after a traffic stop at Washington Street and Country Club Drive on March 5. Deputies found narcotics and items indicative of drug sales.

  • A 39-year-old Desert Hot Springs woman was arrested on narcotics and warrant charges after a traffic stop at Washington Street and Country Club Drive on March 5.

  • A 44-year-old Coachella man was arrested on narcotics charges after a traffic stop at Washington Street and Varner Road on March 7.

  • A 32-year-old Palm Springs man was arrested on narcotics and warrant charges after deputies responded to a disturbance at a business in the 34000 block of Monterey Avenue on March 9.

  • A 32-year-old Coachella woman and a 47-year-old Indio man were both arrested on narcotics charges after deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call at a business in the 75000 block of Gerald Ford Drive on March 10. The woman also had an outstanding warrant.

  • Domestic battery (March 6): A 65-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 74000 block of Hovley Lane East. Deputies determined he had instigated a physical altercation with his spouse.

  • Public intoxication (March 6): A 65-year-old La Quinta man was arrested for public intoxication after a pedestrian check at Highway 111 and Plaza Way. A 43-year-old Palm Desert man was also arrested for public intoxication near Highway 111 and Monterey Avenue the same day.

  • Trespassing (March 8): A 27-year-old Long Beach man was arrested after refusing to leave a business in the 74000 block of Joni Drive.

  • Domestic battery (March 8): A 28-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 73000 block of Country Club Drive.

  • Public intoxication (March 9): A 53-year-old Coachella woman was arrested for public intoxication after a pedestrian check at Deep Canyon Drive and Highway 111.

  • Domestic battery (March 9): A 46-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 72000 block of Bel Air Road.

  • Trespassing (March 10): A 67-year-old Palm Desert man was arrested after refusing to leave a business in the 72000 block of Dinah Shore Drive.
