The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens will transform into a winter wonderland starting Nov. 25 as WildLights returns for its 33rd year, offering millions of lights and holiday attractions through Dec. 30.
The event, presented by the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation, will run select nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Palm Desert zoo.
Visitors will encounter walk-through lighted exhibits, a 30-foot-tall Christmas tree and a G-Scale model train featuring 3,300 feet of track decorated for the holidays. The event also provides opportunities to view African animals including rhinos, giraffes, zebras and African painted dogs.
Free photos with Santa will be available through Dec. 24, with photos with the Grinch offered Dec. 26-30. The event will feature nightly holiday music, festive entertainment and a specialty dinner menu with seasonal treats. Beer, wine and holiday cocktails will be available for guests 21 and older.
S'mores stations and carousel rides will also be offered for an additional fee. Multiple photo opportunities will be located throughout the park.
Guests can purchase day-and-night combo tickets at a discounted rate, allowing them to explore the zoo's 80 acres of animal habitats and desert gardens during the day before returning for WildLights.
